Dear Reader,
Just moments ago, it was near invisible debris in the carpet within the studio. Now it sits, collectedly before you:
SPRING CLEANING ON A PLATE
'Life is like riding a bike. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.'
What collected debris can we plate up to serve to the Man In The Long Black Coat at the end of the bar?
What can we sweep out into the wind?
Visualize and manifest.
Since we're talkin' tableware-
the round PLATE framed weaving
houses a similar offering.
New ideas I'm trying this week:
-bike tube boondoggle (whaaa?)
-fabric friendship bracelet patterned wall hangings
I've been trying to come up with some smaller items to offer. As an innovative, creative person the ideas flow steadily enough, but it feels as though something else has been gunking up the process.
A lot goes into creating new products. A lot of what may seem like wasted or idle time.
From the law of conservation of energy, we know that energy can not be created or destroyed. Believe that it all goes somewhere.*
The crafts and artistic outlets of past lives are the ones that seem to fill me still. Instead of trying to figure out new items to offer you, it seems more sensical in every direction to offer you something that has lived inside me
always.
At just shy of all situations where other humans were present, my young self would take my current project, and
tuck away.
As I stand witness to these same crafts like embroidery floss friendship bracelets and boondoggle in people's hands again there's a wave of familiarity. Comradery. Connections that lend a hand to grounded footing.
So, now with a freshly beaten out rug, the week will be filled with activities reminiscent of stolen moments listening to family in the next room over.
To help tide us over as we patiently wait for Spring, BENCHMARK HOUSEPLANT PROPAGATIONS from our collection have been added to the shop. I hope you're beginning to see, dear Reader, a bit of the mischievous spirit here. The houseplants have been collected and grown with the same.
All propagations will be lovingly packed and shipped in
recycled plastic spice containers.
A free propagation will also be included with each order placed during March.
Different ways to tell time.
From delightfully daunting spaces,
thinking of you,
*The album Camp by Childish Gambino (a.k.a. Donald Glover) was in my ears pretty much the whole three months I was sharing a 12x12' converted hotel room with four other people in Reno, Nevada. I trusted this man in 2013 and the space his music allowed me to find within myself. Trusted his reassurance within his doubt. With a tip of the hat, I trust him still.
