dear reader,
typically,
i'm a very monogamous artist.
typically,
i'm only working one piece
at a time.
Then why are uncompleted weavings everywhere?
i think 'everywhere' is a little dramatic
eeeeeveryw-
it's because of this hesitancy to push. to get back in the game, really. because it just seems as though whenever i do push, it becomes a real knotty ball. so I've been quiet. and still. holding only my own. misunderstood, though i may be.
but this hesitancy has kinda leaked into the artwork. so after a few minutes working a piece, some version of you-
(😎)
chimes in and says
Don't push it.
and you're right. it's like receiving only one known decision at a time, across and over many. versus flowing all in to one.
so i move on to the next piece
but now with spring...
a reminder to share your perennials.
'there's no such love in the world like rain.'
I've been thinking about our instincts. how they have evolved within america's suicide nation. instincts like to breed, and socialize. this inherent s(ee/a)m between masculine and feminine.
feminine as the buzzing social creatures that would return with locations and news
masculine as the sitting and discussing of the information- the formulation
and all the infinite ways
these might look
I've been thinking about how our instincts have evolved within this suicide nation.
how they have changed shapes
but when matter
changes form
we still trust it,
don't we?
trust your instincts
trust you dodged the bullet
if you dodged it,
let it go.
trust it looks different for everyone
just because matter changes form
doesn't mean
it doesn't exist
it doesn't become untrustworthy
just because our instincts
have changed shapes
it doesn't mean you can't trust them
notice when you've dodged a bullet
so you can weave it back in
allow it to look different for everyone
life looks different for everyone
life's tasks look different for everyone
love is
the ability
the interest
the willing patience
of seeing the human
behind the behaviors
as a now that feels like always,
as a started thing,
