turn around in this hallway we’re all walking down
how is the hallway lit behind you?
is that the same light around you?
now
close your big deep eyes and take another step within the hallway
is your path lit before you?
do you see other people?
where are they in relation to you?
who are they in relation to you?
keep this image of the hallway
change it's form
to something tangible,
like a photo or a bubble
or henna on a hand and arm
change the hallway
your space within it
others' place within it
into something tangible
that we can hold
just hold it for a sec-
i'd like another cup of coffee

some focused thought
gathering
what would you
instinctually
habitually
mischievously
like to do with the hallway you are holding?
*rip it up-
turn it into two daughter pieces,
or more,
pieces that will continue to hold the hallway we just found,
the ability to regenerate-
clean the carpets,
take out the trash
but not to redesign the upholstery?
or:
**reach into it-
into the photo
into the bubble
into the seemingly impermeable nucleus
(can you feel it?
from the tip of your longest finger,
slowly moving along tired joints,
between fingers
over the soft pulse of your strong wrist?)
scoop what you can,

a substance offering the ability to renovate
to not only redesign the hallway
but to consciously retrieve a sledgehammer
grasp it firmly with your two hands

to a zenith
and swing downward

is this hole different in any way?
